External recognition.
Is fraught with tiny,
Invisible black holes.
Energy draining.
A cycle never ending.
Self-acceptance and belief,
Functions otherwise.
Bringing peace of mind,
Even on stormy nights.
So why chase fame,
Instead of different paths.
Perhaps it’s the limelight,
Or basking in others’ delight.
Life would have been easier,
Had I known this truth,
In my fleeting years of youth.
But now it matters not.
For time can’t be rewound.
It’s a truth to pass on.
For some may still ask why,
Before choosing that path.
