#203-Doubt and time
I’ve walked through snowfields like this, leaving footsteps behind, feeling free. This photograph reminds me of a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” It’s a beautiful thought and yet, so difficult to do day after day. There is another natural consequence of living like this: not only is there no path to follow, it’s also a lonely road. On days when I can stand back and reflect in time, I feel fulfilled and at peace. Still, there are many days when I struggle against myself, wondering if it’s really the right path. But when I stare at this picture in silence, letting thoughts drift, I feel good. The feeling is my compass that says: “keep going!” So I do. I hope you do too.
