#2072-Free

Afraid to move,

She stood there paralyzed,

Watching others walk by.

Too many thoughts,

Inner-self bound in knots,

Desperate to run away,

And hide in the dark.

For her mind,

Was cemented to the past.

That silent prison,

Full of empty rooms,

Doors open wide,

Begging her,

To walk on by.

Yet she would not leave.

For it was her home,

Meticulously built,

Familiar, safe, free.
