Sunny dreams.
Warm waters.
Side by side.
Far from it all.
The sun burns.
Memories,
Feeling the pain,
Of words soundlessly swallowed.
A tropical breeze.
An ocean view.
To drown out,
The self-inflicted amnesia,
Of the way it was.
Trying to accept smokescreens,
Self-created,
Walked into blindly,
With eyes wide open.
But I’m not here for this!
Drink cold beers.
Feel the sand.
Dive into waves.
Forget.
Knowing it’ll all be there again,
Tomorrow.
Sunny days,
Paid for,
To forget yesterdays.
