#45 – Around the corner
14/09/2017
There is a tree,
Close to where my parents live.
Yesterday as my father walked by
Something caught his eye.
Excited, he took Susanne’s hand,
To show her his find.
A few leaves growing near the ground
Alone, with nothing else around.
Who knows what called out to him.
Perhaps the colors or the solitude,
Created feelings of gratitude.
Now in my world,
There is a tree,
Forever linked to him.
In years to come,
I’ll too stroll by this tree,
Recalling my father, and
Hearing his distant voice,
Mingled with the breeze…
