#205-Tradition

There’s a family-owned dairy factory in our village. They still use old-fashioned milk cans made of metal. I’ve never seen them being filled or delivered anywhere, but everyday walking by, I see the cans lined up, ready to go. They’re always kept outside next to the street. Not locked up, and with no one keeping watch.

Today seeing the cans, a thought occurred to me that didn’t immediately register. At first I caught myself smiling and feeling happy. Then I understood why: I was feeling the simplicity and trust in everyday life around me. Until today, they had been milk cans. But now, they are simplicity and trust. I hope they both live on and on and on.
