Some were captured, and
Immediately bolted to steps,
Leading to nowhere.
No questions were asked.
Medals and praise, were heaped
On a chosen few.
Only later,
Did the truth emerge.
It had all been a hoax.
But by then,
It was too late.
The population
Had come to blindly believe,
Its daily share of
Carefully chosen,
Spoon-fed news.
