#2269-In time

Sunday mornings,

Soapy water,

Rain-splattered cars.

When neighbors,

With coffee and a smile,

Greeted one another,

In unfenced backyards.

They were innocent days,

I never thought I’d miss.

But now I see,

They were special times,

Happy and carefree.
