#45 - Around the corner
There is a tree,[br_tc] Close to where my parents live.[br_tc] Yesterday as my father walked by[br_tc] Something caught his eye.[br_tc] Excited, he took Susanne’s hand,[br_tc] To show her his find.[br_tc] A few leaves growing near the ground[br_tc] Alone, with nothing else around.[br_tc] Who knows what called out to him.[br_tc] Perhaps the colors or the solitude,[br_tc] Created feelings of gratitude.[br_tc] Now in my world,[br_tc] There is a tree,[br_tc] Forever linked to him.[br_tc] In years to come,[br_tc] I’ll too stroll by this tree,[br_tc] Recalling my father, and[br_tc] Hearing his distant voice,[br_tc] Mingled with the breeze…
