#73-Growth

There’s a farmer close to our village with a few planted fields of corn. I’ve watched them grow since the day they were planted. Today, they’re slowly drying and getting ready for harvest. I imagine they will be used as feed for farm animals, but I don’t really know. The next time I see the farmer, I’ll ask. And perhaps I’ll thank him – for the food that fed my imagination and words…

Growing up,

I was wrapped up

In my own world,

Thinking I knew best.

Years passed,

As layers dried,

Falling off me

Along the way.

One day,

All that will remain,

Will be me.

Naked, unfiltered, and simply me…
