Tranquility, peacefulness,
And her lying in my bed,
Close by.
A Brahms concerto
Plays on.
A warm, August night.
Windows open wide.
A car drives by, unseen.
Strange sounds,
Dance with blind thoughts,
Struggling to see.
Humidity and darkness,
Play tricks on the mind.
Lucidity hides,
In the dark of night.
As cowbells accompany Brahms,
And she listens with eyes closed,
To fingertips tapping
Words unknown.
