In olden times,
Jokes were readily understood.
Misconceptions,
Political correctness,
Or judgments,
Put on the wayside,
To drift away with the tide.
In his latter days,
Dad felt confused.
Modern life a mystery,
Not easily understood.
Back then it baffled me.
Now it’s plainer to see.
For today in his shoes,
I too have the same views.
