#20 – Remembering

A country road,
Rows of olives trees, and
Tranquility.
If you could be there like I was,
You’d hear the birds,
Feel the sun and the breeze,
Breathe deeply,
And perhaps relax,
Under the shade of an old tree.
Leaning against the trunk,
Skin against skin
The bark leaving imprints,
Moments of togetherness.
Maybe you’d gaze into the distance
Letting thoughts wander
As senses slowly drift:
Ants milling about,
Bees buzzing everywhere,
Tiny growing olives, and
Tingly feeling of butterflies inside,
Like those I used to feel as a kid.
Maybe…
I was there,
But the beauty and serenity feel different now.
Today my body feels tired,
My mind slower,
But looking at this picture
Brings back the calm, and belief:
All is fine. All will be fine.
It’s just another day,
Along life’s path.
It’s not always straight, calm or beautiful.
But at the end,
It is.
And all I need do is just let it…
