She stands at the water’s edge.
Close by,
Yet far away,
In a grey world.
A flower flies into the air.
She turns,
Walks away,
As I watch,
Breath held,
Unable to move.
Swallowing unspoken words,
I gaze at the water,
As the ripples slowly fade,
Wondering,
Her tears,
Or the flower?
