#56 – Shells

Together,

In each other’s arms,

And oblivious,

To the world around.

Immortalized,

Not crushed,

By a haphazard picture,

On a morning walk.

– – – – – –

Separate shelters,

Closeness,

Me and her…

– – – – – –

Love is fragile.

And we too can be crushed:

Ghosts past,

Stale, time-guarded fears,

Hurtful pent up words,

From old foreign worlds.

– – – – – –

I hope with age,

Fears have decayed,

Their power,

No longer capable,

Of harming me today…
