#796-Like yesterday
Shadows cast on a wall,
As the setting sun,
Whispers farewell.
Dusk will soon creep in.
Another dark,
Endless night.
I can feel it.
Like so many before,
When sunrise,
Never seems to come.
Seconds passing like minutes.
Church bells asleep for hours.
And trains,
Traveling in the dead of night,
Through the countryside.
Wish I was on it.
Sleeping past all this.
The white-washed ceiling,
Is barely visible.
Ghosts,
Dance the tango,
With memories.
Looking over their shoulders,
Laughing.
As I stare on,
Waiting for a dawn,
Still far away.
Like yesterday.
Shadows cast on a wall,
As the setting sun,
Whispers farewell.
Dusk will soon creep in.
Another dark,
Endless night.
I can feel it.
Like so many before,
When sunrise,
Never seems to come.
Seconds passing like minutes.
Church bells asleep for hours.
And trains,
Traveling in the dead of night,
Through the countryside.
“Wish I was on it.
Sleeping past all this.”
The white-washed ceiling,
Is barely visible.
Ghosts,
Dance the tango,
With memories.
Looking over their shoulders,
Laughing.
As I stare on,
Waiting for a dawn,
Still far away.
Like yesterday.
