#24 - Leaving
Last night I had a dream but only remember fragments. My mother was speaking to my father: “I want to show you something; it’s my hair. Have you seen how grey it’s gotten?” There was emotion in her voice and a certain sense of urgency. It was as if part of her life with him had passed unnoticed. Dad was quiet; he just listened, appearing receptive to her words.
The dream reminded me of the special someone in my life...
If there was a way,[br_tc] I’d like to watch her hair turn grey,[br_tc] One by one,[br_tc] Day after day.[br_tc] But all I can do,[br_tc] Is nurture the feelings[br_tc] And live moments together[br_tc] That show how much I care.[br_tc] I’d like her to feel, that[br_tc] I want to grow old with her,[br_tc] Side by side,[br_tc] Holding hands,[br_tc] One day at a time.
